Affiliate disclosure

Where the money comes from, stated before you read anything else on the site rather than in a footnote.

The short version

If affiliate links are added here, this site will earn a commission when a reader signs up to a dating app after following one. That is the planned business model. It is the reason the site exists, and it is how the pages stay free to read. At the time of writing, in October 2026, no link of that kind is live anywhere on the site, and no app has any commercial arrangement with it.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is an ordinary link with an identifier attached. If a reader followed one and signed up, the app would record that the visit came from this site and would pay a commission. The payment would come from the app, out of what it would otherwise spend on advertising. Nothing in that arrangement costs the reader anything, and no reader pays more for having arrived from here.

What it changes

If links of this kind are added, they will change how much money this site makes. A page that leads to sign-ups will earn more than a page that does not, and that is worth stating plainly rather than pretending otherwise. Running a site takes time, and the commission is what pays for it.

What it does not change

  • No app can pay for a place on a list. There is no paid placement, no sponsored page and no ranking for sale. An app that pays nothing will appear in exactly the same places as an app that pays the most.
  • No app can pay for a kinder sentence. Where an app suits this reader badly, the page says so, and that is true whether or not there is a link on it.
  • No app sees anything before it is published. Pages are not sent to a company for approval, and no company has ever been offered the chance to review one.
  • No weakness is left out. Free tier limits, the parts of an interface that are hard to learn, and the reasons people leave are on the pages, because they are the most useful thing on them.

Where the links are

If links of this kind go live, they will sit on the app pages, where a reader has just read a description of an app and may want to go and look at it. None is live at the time of writing. They will not sit inside the fraud pages, and nothing on this site pays to be in a guide.

How the recommendation is decided

Pages are written before any commercial arrangement is considered. Each app is described using the same four steps, which are set out on the method page: installing it, working through signup and the free tier, reading its published help documentation, and comparing that against what users report publicly. Which apps would carry a link has no bearing on what those pages say about them.

Editorial independence

Nobody outside this site reads a page before it is published, and no company is given advance notice of what a page will say about it. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

Other income

At the time of writing, affiliate links are the only planned source of income, and none of them is live yet. There is no advertising network on this site, no sponsored content, no paid newsletter and no data sold to anyone. If any of that changes, it will be named on this page rather than quietly added.
