Terms of use

Short, because the site is simple. It is a set of pages published for anyone to read, and these are the terms attached to reading them.

Last updated October 16, 2026.

What this site is

MidlifeInsider publishes written information about dating apps, about starting to date again in midlife, and about romance fraud. It is published as a public resource. Reading it does not create any kind of professional relationship, and there is no service being sold on this site beyond the content itself.

What this site is not

It is not legal, medical, financial or therapeutic advice, and it is not a substitute for any of them. It is not a fraud recovery service, a background check service, or a mediation service, and no message sent here can make it one. Nothing on this site should be read as a professional opinion about your situation, because no professional has assessed it.

Accuracy

The content here is written carefully and checked, but dating apps change their interfaces, their free tiers and their features constantly, and public information about fraud changes as agencies publish new reports. Pages can therefore go out of date between visits.

The site is published as it is, without a warranty that any page is accurate, complete or current at the moment you read it. Where a page is found to be wrong, it is corrected, and corrections are noted on the page. The contact page has the address for sending one.

Figures, prices and counts

This site deliberately publishes no prices and no member numbers for any app, because both change and a stale figure is a false one. Paywalls are described by their structure. The only numeric figures published here are ones quoted from government agencies, attributed to the agency, and quoted as published. If you find a figure on this site that is not attributed to an agency, it is an error and should be reported.

Using the content

You are welcome to read the site, quote short passages with a link back to the page, and share links with anyone. Republishing whole pages as your own work, or scraping the site to build a competing one, is not permitted. The text, the site design and the code are owned by the publisher of this site.

Apps and other companies

App and company names appear on this site in order to describe the products. They belong to their owners, and their appearance here does not suggest any partnership, sponsorship or approval unless a page says so in plain words.

Descriptions of apps are based on what the app presents to a new user and on its own published documentation, not on any inside information. Criticism on this site is limited to product design and to things any reader can check by installing the app.

Links out

Where this site points at another site, that site is responsible for its own content and its own terms. A link is not an endorsement of everything else that site publishes.

Limits of responsibility

To the extent the law allows, the publisher of this site is not responsible for losses arising from decisions taken after reading it. That limit exists because this site is a set of pages and not a service: it cannot see your situation, it cannot verify a person you are talking to, and it cannot recover money. Where a page tells you to contact a bank, a payment provider or an agency, that advice is about who can actually act, and it is the best this site can do.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top of this page is the date of the last change, and continuing to read the site after a change means the current version applies.
